2010 HIGH SCHOOL POETRY CONTEST
The first place prize (two passes to the Festival and $50) was awarded to Rebecca Caruso of Wellington, a senior at Wellington High School, for her poem, Bayou Blues.The four runners-up, who each received a Festival pass and $25, were:

June Sallen of Lake Worth, a ninth grader at Grandview Preparatory School, for her poem, Gold Fish.Kate Yarborough of Wellington, a senior at Wellington High School, for her poem, There’s Always the Preliminary Flirtatious Conversation.Mandy Bartmess of West Palm Beach, a sophomore at Alexander W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts, for her poem, How to Unbreak Broken.Tom Budz of Boynton Beach, a freshman at Pope John Paul II High School, for his poem, If.

The High School Poetry Contest is open to Palm Beach County public and private high school students, and was judged by Dr. Jeff Morgan, of Lynn University’s Department of English.
